The Queensland Government is seeking submissions from people like you about how you want to see the resources industry in Queensland develop in the future. This is a great opportunity to ensure that they hear loud and clear that Queenslanders want to see the Channel Country rivers and floodplains protected from activities that would compromise its health - like gas fracking - before it’s too late.
Channel Country waterways are among the world’s last remaining free flowing desert rivers. They support an incredible diversity of unique plants, birds and other wildlife, sustain Australia’s largest organic beef industry and a growing tourism industry, and hold cultural wealth that dates back millennia.
But gas giants are on the move in the Channel Country, putting these delicate wetland ecosystems, prime agricultural land and livelihoods at risk.
Add your details to send your own submission into the Queensland Resources Industry Development Plan and let the Government know that you want to see the Channel Country rivers, wetlands, and floodplains protected from mining - including oil and gas - and the risks that come with it - for wildlife, for livelihoods and for culture.
